Advancing Modular Construction with PPVC Housing in Yangon
Tiong Seng Holdings Limited, together with its subsidiaries and local partners, successfully completed the Yuzana Low Cost Housing development in Dagon Seikkan Township, Yangon, Myanmar — a landmark project demonstrating the Group’s early capability to export advanced precast and modular construction technologies.
Delivered under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with the Myanmar government and local joint-venture partner Shwe Taung Group, the development comprised seven five-storey residential blocks, with the final block completed using Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC) — one of the first such implementations in Myanmar.
As the Group’s precast and prefabrication specialist, Robin Village Development (RVD) provided comprehensive design and technical support, including the planning and implementation of the precast production facilities, selection of suitable equipment and suppliers, and value engineering of the PPVC modules to ensure the technology was optimally applied to the development.
By integrating off-site production with rapid on-site assembly, the team achieved a 40% reduction in construction time, completing the PPVC block in just three months. The project showcases how industrialised building methods can deliver quality housing efficiently, safely, and sustainably in new markets.
The success of the Yuzana development lays an early foundation for RVD’s international expansion and its role under Tiong Seng Engineering Solutions (TSES) in advancing DfMA and prefabrication technologies across the region.
